"PARTY OF NO" AND LATHAM OBSTRUCTING HEALTH CARE REFORM

Tom Harrington writes about the obstructionism by Latham and his Republican colleagues in a letter to the Ames Tribune:
Once you sort through the misinformation, health care reform comes down to us vs. the insurance industry, the Democrats vs. the “Party of No.”

Thanks to Sen. Harkin and Reps. Braley, Loebsack and Boswell for their determination in fighting through the lies and trying to move our country forward with a health insurance system that works for all of us.

 Sen. Grassley and Reps. Latham and King, in contrast, have continued to push the erroneous “government takeover” meme. They have done whatever they can to obstruct progress on health care reform.

 The bill under consideration is not a government takeover of healthcare. It simply protects consumers and increases competition among insurance companies.

 It’s a shame Republicans won’t help pass this historic legislation, which will benefit all Iowans.
